Advent 2020

An instagram account I just started following* polled us all a couple of days ago: “How festive are you feeling?” It was the first Sunday of Advent, over in England, and she was struggling to get her decorating game on.

Here in Australia, the sun is shining and the Coronavirus situation is mostly under control. But the festive vibes are low in our home too. On the first Sunday of Advent this year, I cried in church from child-induced sleep deprivation. The temperature rose to 41 degrees, strong winds whipped up fires (again), a family member was rushed to hospital with heatstroke. Not very festive.

Good thing, I thought, Advent is not about feeling happy.

There are no new resources here this year. The year has been a bit full, and the world of blogging has drastically slowed down! But if you are looking for some staples, you can find them linked below. Find the full selection under the resources tab.

Collects and Prayers | Poetry | The Antiphons (Dec 17-23)

We’ve also updated the Bible Reading Plan graphic in case you want to save it to your phone.
